Almost everyone wants to jump straight to Depth, because those drag lines are loud. But if Length and Circumference aren’t set first, Depth may lie to you.
These are the one page LCD fitting checklists I use to keep muslins from turning into a wrinkle guessing game. Print them on letter paper (they’re designed in black and white to save on ink) and keep them by your sewing machine.
Remember:
Tightness first is the only exception
Length, then Circumference, then Depth (top – down)
